Behind the Blogger: Part 1

Hi loves! Since I'm trying to get back to blogging regularly after a long hiatus, I thought it would be fun to dive a little more into who I am as a person. Especially since times have changed a LOT since I was blogging regularly - I have grown and evolved as a person, and life has changed drastically. Of course, there are so many things that have remained the same, as I am still the same person at my core. I also believe there is more than meets the eye, or shall I say, social media channels. Most of you who know me probably immediately think of health and fitness when you see or hear my name. While health and fitness is one of the biggest parts of my life, it isn't the only part and it isn't my only passion. There is more to me than … [Read more...]

How To Not Allow Fear Hold You Back in Life

Lets talk fear. Even saying the word can get your skin crawling, no? I know it does for me. I feel as if everyone can relate to fear in various different ways and for various different situations. Sure, it can mean something you have a literal fear of, such as heights, or cockroaches lets say. However, the type of fear I'm talking about is the one that hold's you back from the things you want to do and accomplish in your life. You know, the siamese twin to the phrase "what if". Don't even get me started on this "what if" character. It certainly has the ability to dictate the decisions you make in your life - I know it has for me in the past. Have you ever wanted to do something, but you were afraid that you were going to fail? Yup. I'm … [Read more...]

Five Tips to Help Increase Your Self-Acceptance

One of my soul sisters and I usually share our daily devotionals with one another each morning, especially if it’s a good one and strikes a chord within ourselves. I figured I would share mine from this morning about Self Acceptance, because I feel like so many of us can relate - regardless if you are religious or not. “You may not think highly of yourself, but God wants you to like who you are. “ Here are 5 tips to help increase your self-acceptance and improve your opinion of yourself: 1.Never speak negatively about yourself - acknowledge every good thing in you, not focusing on the wrong. 2.Avoid comparing yourself to others.  3.Let God determine your worth. Remember that you have already been accepted by God. 4.Keeps your … [Read more...]

Ignite Your Fitness – Puma Ignite XT

I think you all know my obsession with workout attire. I'm such a sucker for cute & comfy workout clothes, especially since I work from home that is basically all I wear. I'm either dressed like I'm going to the gym, or I'm going to the gym. ;) Not only that, but when look cute in the gym, I perform better. Call me crazy, but it's true! If I feel uncomfortable or don't like what I'm wearing, then that's what I focus on instead of my actual workout. Look good, feel good, perform good! I was lucky enough to be chosen to work with Puma for their forever faster campaign, where they focus on constantly innovating to produce new standards for fitness and fashion. Puma kindly sent me a pair of leggings, a sports bra, t-shirt, and most … [Read more...]

How to Get Motivated – Top 3 Tips

One of the most asked questions in the fitness industry is "how you you get/stay motivated?" I see this ALL.THE.TIME. Not only do I get asked that, but I see other fitness professionals getting asked this pretty much ever day, or multiple times a day. How do you get motivated? How do you count macros? How do you eat healthy? How do you do x,y,z... I really wish I had a special fairy dust that I could sprinkle on everyone and BAM everyone has this intense motivation they are looking for. Wishful thinking.... The reality is, no one can make you do anything. It honestly has to come from within (even though that sounds so corny) YOU HAVE TO WANT IT. It's really as simple as that. If you want something bad enough, you will make it happen, … [Read more...]

How to Get in Tune With Your Intuition Now

A couple of years ago, I wasn't really in tune with my "intuition". In fact, I would always wonder why I never was. Sure, I had gut feelings about certain things, but I wasn't ever sure about my gut feelings - I would just second guess everything. I noticed this because I started getting more into my faith, and would talk to my mom about how I didn't understand how she was so in tune with her intuition. Whenever she would start talking about something, or asking for a sign, she would get that sign she asked for immediately. Me on the other hand, I would do the same thing and got nothing. "WHY do I never get these clear signs that you get?" I would complain to my mom. I would ask the universe multiple times about various things. I … [Read more...]

What Inspires You?

I actually like Monday's. I know, I know. Don't hate me. I mean, maybe the fact that I usually work weekends has something to do with it, but it also feels like a fresh start. It's getting back into a routine, being productive, and a chance for you to set your week on a good note. Honestly, I want to live a life that doesn't include me dreading Monday's. I want to be happy and have a life that makes me enjoy every single day - even a Monday. Who's with me? Since i'm getting back into blogging again after focusing almost all my time on school and YouTube (still there, don't worry!), I want more of a schedule. I figured what better day than Monday to have kind of like an inspirational series. Either a topic that inspires you, motivates … [Read more...]

Five Reasons We Shouldn’t Get Stressed Over the Holiday’s

Whenever the holiday's are coming up, I see people freaking out, getting stressed, and not even enjoying this time of the year. Between Christmas shopping, food shopping, wrapping gifts, holiday parties, cooking, etc. people seem to find ways to stress themselves out. I never understood it - isn't this time of the year supposed to be happy and jolly? That's how I see it. Since stress plays a huge role in mental and physical health, this is why I want to talk about this subject. I even tweeted yesterday about how I felt like the only one not stressed that Christmas was a couple days away. My own father tweeted me back (yup, he's on twitter ha!), and said it's because I'm not a parent yet. I understand that in a sense, but I also don't … [Read more...]

What Beauty Means to Me

Jumping back into the September Blogging Challenge today, and the topic is Makeupless Monday / What beauty means to me. Yes, it's Tuesday, but I didn't post yesterday, so it works ;) I never wear makeup, so here's a make-up less selfie from the other day before my workout. Beauty to me is many things, but I don't think of "physical beauty" that many people may think of when they hear that word. It is SO much more than that, and I have definitely learned that over the years. Of course, almost every girl has had insecurities, and maybe still does. I'll be honest, I know I sure did, and still do. It's human nature for us girls, especially because of the way the media portrays beauty. Thankfully, I'm learning to get over that, and am … [Read more...]

Exercise is Meant to Be Enjoyed

There are so many different ways to get active. You can run, lift weights, take exercise classes, do yoga, crossfit, bootcamp, do pilates, go swimming, rollerblading, biking, walking, and so much more. Often times I see people putting down certain ways of exercising. "NO running whatsoever", "Don't lift heavy or you'll get bulky", "yoga isn't really exercise", "walking isn't intense enough". So on, and so forth. I cringe when I hear these things. Yes, certain types of exercises should be incorporated into your exercise routine depending on your goals. However, they don't need to be the ONLY type of exercise you do. If you want to build muscle, sure, you must incorporate some type of strength training into your exercise routine. … [Read more...]
