How to Become a Morning Person

You know those annoying morning people that wake up without an alarm, never have to hit snooze, is happy and cheerful after waking up, has no problem working out early, and states that their favorite time of the day is the morning?

Yeah, well, uhhhhh…. I’m one of those people. I wasn’t always a morning person though. There were times when I stayed up way too late, slept in when I could, was grumpy in the morning, and just hated waking up early. Now a days, I am the “annoying morning person” that I explained before. Although I won’t lie, some days I can be a little less peppy than others! My body seems to just naturally wake me up early no matter what time I went to bed the night before.

So many people ask me how I wake up early everyday and consider 7am sleeping in. I believe that the reason for this is because of a few things, but mainly my body clock and habit.

Here are some tips to become a morning person:

1. Go to bed earlier. If you constantly go to bed late, you will keep waking up late. Start going to bed earlier little by little every night and your body will get used to it.

2. Set an alarm in the morning. Going to bed earlier, you’ll probably start to naturally wake up earlier. To get your body used to it, set an alarm!

3. Make it a habit. Once you start going to bed earlier and waking up earlier, it’ll start to become a habit. Your body clock will start to change and you’ll be on a different/new sleep schedule.

4. Get enough sleep. Ensuring that you’re well rested is essential to becoming a morning person. Anyone who doesn’t get enough sleep will not want to be waking up early, but if you get enough sleep there is no reason why you shouldn’t feel great after waking up.

5. Fake it till you make it. Ok, this is kind of corny, but I swear it works. If you wake up and you have a negative mindset about it, you’ll probably not have a very great morning! Be positive about it, and you’d be surprised that you actually might enjoy the calmness of the morning.

6. Be productive. Go to the gym, get some emails done, catch up on some reading, whatever it is that you may want to do just do it, and it’ll feel really awesome to get things done early on. You’ll realize that you get much more done during the day once you start becoming a morning person.

  1. I’m actually a morning person. I found that when I went to bed earlier it was pretty easy. Great tips!

  2. Morning person always! I’m so dead by 7 o clock 😛 I’m asleep by 8:30! Hahaha!

  3. I used to be a really good morning person and now I’m stuck in such a bad routine with going to bed late!

that happened to me before too! you just have to get less sleep one night then you’ll be back on track haha

  4. Definitely a morning person! There’s just something about getting things done in the peace of the morning when the rest of the world is asleep. Lately though, I’ve been staying up way too late, so my early mornings have been a little more rough than usual!

  5. Great tips! I am a morning person usually but I can get off schedule depending on how crazy life gets and how much sleep I need. I agree with creating a schedule to build a habit though. I always give myself a task to do every morning so that I have something to wake up for. I also try to shoot for 7-8 hours sleep each night and I also wear an eye mask and use lavender to help me sleep. It all helps!

  6. Morning Person – YES I AM! I honestly think it’s genetic, but I also think it has something to do with MOOD and if you’re a happy person, like myself, then you will WANT to get out of bed early in the morning. I am also a regimented girl and I know if I don’t work out at the ass-crack of dawn, I will be a bitch the rest of the day, and I don’t need to get arrested for punching someone in public!

PS: I actually work BETTER on LESS SLEEP! 5 – 6 hours, good to go!

Yes definitely. But you are crazy I need at least 7 and that’s still death to me hah! I feel best on 8-9 hours 😀

  7. When I was younger, I was definitely a morning person – and I had to be, otherwise I would have never found a way to fit in training as I was working 12 hour days! These days I’m lucky if I’m in bed before 3am… which means waking up before 10 is rare. Thankfully, I live in Europe and no one is up before 10 anyway. I don’t know how you get up so early without an alarm clock!

  8. I am trying to sleep early so I go to bed by 10pm but I wake up at 3am feeling really awake or it takes ages for me to get back to sleep! Then after my workout I feel like a nap lol. I am not human unless I get 7hrs sleep haha

  9. It gets difficult for newcomers to decide where to begin. While the main focus
of a bingo site will obviously be bingo, slots offer players a diversion. Before
depositing money at any gambling site, you must know where to contact if there
    is any problem.
