The next day, we woke up early and hit the road to Yosemite National Park! It was a 4-hour drive from where we were staying in Napa Valley.
We got a cottage at the south end of Yosemite, at a place called Tenaya Lodge. It was beautiful! My mom and I were hungry once we got there, so we went down to the main lodge and grabbed some lunch.
I went with something different for a change, and got a tofu and veggie scramble on top of sweet potato noodles, which came with a spicy peanut sauce on the side. I was intrigued by the sweet potato noodles, and they were certainly… different. It was still good, just not something I’d get all the time probably!
We had a fireplace right in one of our rooms. Perfect since the mornings and nights were pretty chilly!
After lunch, my mom and I decided to go for a little hike at the south end of Yosemite since we were so close.
We went to the Red Sequoia trail, and just walked around for a bit.
It wasn’t a strenuous hike, but it was nice to get some fresh air and walk around a bit.
This was the view from the balcony of the cottage. So pretty and peaceful!
A little while later, we got ready for dinner. Casually flexing in a dress… ya know.
It was actually pretty chilly that night, so the restaurant at the main lodge had a couple of big fireplaces going. We sat out there for a bit, and then decided to call it a night.
We weren’t quite ready for bed, so we finished off the night with some of the wine we bought in Napa and sat by the fire with good conversation.
Perfect end to our first day in Yosemite!
