There used to be a time where I hated the color pink. This was also the phase where I hate dresses or anything girly. I went through a little tom-boy phase when I was younger, all I cared about was going to the skate park and being a little tough girl. Oh my, how times have changed.
Shortly after, I LOVED the color pink. Things completely changed, and I was obsessed. This tends to happen often – if I hate something I really hate it. If I love it, I’m obsessed. One extreme or the other is my type of personality.
Not only with the color pink, but I went through a period where I knew nothing about make-up, fashion, or anything girly for that matter. Now? You guessed it..I LOVE IT. I am certainly no expert, but I’m learning every day. It’s fun to be a girl sometimes 😉
I always get questions on my make-up and most importantly, my lipsticks.
I feel like lipstick just brings your entire look together. You can have super simple make up on, a simple outfit, but once you put on that lipstick, all is right. It makes a statement if it’s the right color for the outfit but also for YOU.
Some lipsticks work for some people, but may look terrible on others. Similar to different hair colors – you have to find what works with your skin tone. I know I’m definitely a cool skin tone because if I look at the veins in my arm in natural light, they’re blue. I also look better in silver jewelry rather than gold, but I can still wear gold depending on what I’m wearing. So, I can be a neutral skin tone as well.
But anyway, these are my go-to lip colors! I have found if I mix both it turns out the perfect shade, so that’s what I do. There are no rules in make up people – do what you gotta do.
Revlon color burst (the lighter shade) is what I put on first. It’s super light, so it looks better under the darker color.
Maybelline lipsticks are my absolute favorite. That’s the one I put on after the lighter shade. It mixes perfectly and comes out the perfect tone. If you just put on the party pink, it’s a little bit of a darker shade which I love as well, but when I’m feeling bold and want light lips I mix them!
What is your favorite shade of lipstick?
Do you like a bold look, or more neutral?
