Healthy Snack Ideas

It seems as if everyone loves snacking. I'll be honest, I'm in the minority here because I am not a huge snacker. I typically prefer to follow intermittent fasting and eat bigger meals, less often. However, since getting pregnant, snacking definitely seems to be occurring more frequently since bigger meals don't sit too well in my stomach anymore. Many times I'll see "weight loss" articles and such giving advice that if you're trying to lose weight you should cut out the snacks. To be frank, this advice is trash. Some of you reading this may be macro enthusiasts, and some of you may be asking "what the heck is a macro?" The other people may know what macros are and are just intrigued by the thought of tracking macros since the concept has truly blown up in the fitness industry lately. First of all, what is a macro? Trader Joe’s Grocery Haul

I loooooove Trader Joes. I practically jumped with joy when they started opening them up all around Florida! We went so long without any trader joes within the entire state. Now I have one a few minutes away from my house, and I am so happy about that. I don't go too often, but it's always fun when I do! I enjoy seeing what other people buy, and I try to get something different each time so I figured I'd share this weeks haul.   These are AMAZING! You Have to Look at The Bigger Picture

I posted a photo the other day on instagram explaining how I was feeling lately. So many people I knew were competing this past weekend, and I just got super nostalgic and upset that I wasn't. This past weekend was Jr. National's, which is the show that I was initially prepping for before I decided not to compete this summer. I think that's the main reason why I got upset, and because everyone else was super lean when I was doing quite the opposite. There are usually two types of goals that I see people wanting to reach in their fitness journey: 1. Lose fat 2. Build Muscle And sometimes, people want to do both; don't we all. The “Healthier” I Ate, the Worse I Felt

When I first started embarking on a healthier lifestyle, I went full-force into it. I basically took the "all or nothing" route, as I tend to do with many things. That's just my personality - I usually feel that if I'm not giving 150%, there's no point. However, I have to disagree with myself on this one. Strawberry-Apple Cinnamon Protein Muffins

I always say I'm going to start coming up with more healthy recipes and then....it never happens. I love to bake though, and especially make my own homemade healthy protein bars. I love my store bought bars but dang, they can get expensive. I'm all about saving money where I can, and making your own protein treats are definitely the way to go. I finally had a chance to come up with a new recipe the other day on my day off. Embrace Your Flaws

If you guys follow me on instagram, you probably saw the last post I posted talking about my flaws. Yup, I pointed out just a few of the many flaws that I have. The other day I posted a transformation picture showing how far I've come physically AND mentally. I post these transformations in hopes of inspiring others that they CAN reach their goals, whatever it may be. The picture on the left I had just started lifting, was eating too little calories, and just stopped running a ton of miles. How My Bikini Competition Helped Me, Not Hurt Me

More often than not, I hear stories about how girls come out of a bikini competition and start dealing with mental health issues ranging from bingeing, depression, body image issues, disordered eating, and more. I feel for all of those girls, because although I haven't dealt with all of those things, I certainly have had my share of body image issues and what not. This is one of the reasons why I waited to compete for so long. What To Do When You Are Lacking Motivation

Motivation - the general desire or willingness to do something. When it comes to fitness, sometimes it's there and sometimes it's not. I know a lot of people struggle with this at times, and I am constantly seeing people ask others "how do you stay motivated"? First of all, not being motivated at times is NORMAL.
