Day 2 – The City and Napa

May 14, 2014

The next morning, the madre and I woke up fairly early thanks to my internal alarm clock, and we hit the gym! I did a chest, triceps, abs, and a little cardio circuit with the battle ropes, punching bag, kettle bells, TRX, and more.

We came back, showered, and then grabbed some coffee and made ourselves a quick breakfast. We made ghetto oatmeal – oatmeal made with hot water from the coffee pot. Then I added some protein powder, banana, walnuts, and raisins. Hit the spot.

We then parked the car and decided to do the tourist sight seeing bus.

We were obviously excited ha ha.

It was a BEAUTIFUL day. A little warm, but on the top of the bus, the breeze was blowing and giving us a little bit of cool air.

Painted ladies! Brings me back to childhood thinking of Full House hahaha.

There were tons of daisies on the ground, which is my favorite flower!

We were out all day and got super sunburned. On the way back to the car, we decided to stop in a cute little coffee shop for drip coffee and we also grabbed a gluten free almond cup to share. Delicious.

One of the main things I LOVE about the city, is that there are a ton of cute little restaurants and cafe’s.

We decided to head north to Napa after a long day in the city, because we were heading there the next day anyway for some wine tasting.

I loved how we went from city to country in just a short drive. I’m obsessed with the mountains here, we don’t get anything like it in Florida. Just a garbage dump. Lovely.

We were ready for dinner once we got here, so I scoped out a great little downtown area called Oxford, with a ton of great restaurants to chose from. We decided on a little taco/mexican place that was entirely gluten free, with free-range meats, organic, and fresh food.

We started off with some wine. When in Napa, duh.

And chips and salsa!

My mom and brother ordered the same dish – steak tacos with avocado.

I ordered the free range chicken with a side salad that had avocado, blue cheese, oranges, and a citrus dressing. My meal was to dieeee for. I annihilated it.

Another great day in the books! Next up, wine tasting in Napa. 😉

Are you a city or country person?

Do you do tourist things while on vacation?

    1. Looks like y’all had an incredible trip. Napa is one place on my to visit list. I’m kind of like you, I love the city life but also a fan of the country. So I guess if I had to describe the perfect place, it’d be Virginia Beach! By far my favorite place I’ve ever lived.

      1. Ooo I’ve never been! Definitely want to check it out 😀

    1. Love all the pics! You ladies are gorgeous!
If you love the mountains, you should come visit me in Switzerland. We have them here everywhere with breathtaking views.

      1. Thanks love! I would DIEEE to go to Switzerland!

    1. I definitely love BOTH the city and country, but if I had to choose one to LIVE in, I would go with the country. I can’t handle the busy aspect of cities all the time. I love the ghetto coffee, I’ve totally done that. ANYTHING FOR COFFEE!

    1. Having read this I believed it was really informative. I appreciate you taking the
time and effort to put this article together.
I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and commenting.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
