Competition Prep Update/Meals Lately

Welp, I’m 11 weeks outs. Shit. Is. Getting. REAL! Kind of freaking out a bit. But I can say, my motivation is at an ALLL time high. I’m so ready to kill it and compete! I’m pretty darn excited.

Although things are a bit crazy around here between work, back in school full-time, training, etc. it’s all worth it to me. I’m not a typical 22-year-old, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I truly believe that to get what you want and be successful, you have to PUT IN THE WORK.

I have never just been handed every single thing in my life. Yes, I’ve been blessed with a lot of things that I am so, so grateful for. However, I learned early on how to be independent, work for what I want, be responsible, and do things on my own. I’m very glad that I learned that at a young age.

Anyway, enough rambling! I’ve been in competition prep for about 6 weeks already – CRAZY! Time is seriously flying.

Starting weight: 137-138 lbs

Current weight: 132 lbs

If you didn’t come to this post to see my butt, sorry. Hahaha I need to get comfortable with showing the world more skin because uhhh, I’ll be up on sage in a smaller bikini posing my toosh off. So, here’s a progress pic.

Left was my starting picture, right was my last check in. Yes, I do have heels on and the lighting is a bit different, but the changes are pretty obvious. Legs are leaner and more toned, lower back and upper body is muuuch more toned and leaner.

No, I haven’t lost a ton of weight, but honestly, slow and steady is what we have been aiming for. Body composition changes are much more important anyway.

I was carb cycling for a while, but last week my energy and strength was pretty low so coach gave me a diet break! He increased calories, carbs, and I did no cardio. Very much appreciated.

Weight stayed the same during the diet break thankfully, but I’m sure I’ll be hopping right back into prep this week.

Food

Still following iifym. I will be doing so throughout my entire prep. Yes, I eat 90% “clean” real, whole foods. I love bro foods, and I love eating real food. Eat good, feel good. I believe that FEELING good is most important. However, I do still have “processed” foods when I want. I eat protein bars almost every day (they’re easy), cereal, reddi whip, pb2, walden farms, wraps, dairy, gluten, arctic zero, protein powder, etc. Keeps me sane and allows variety in my diet.

Here are some things I’ve been eating:

Random wrap (joseph’s lavash – amazing macros!), with chicken, lettuce, squash, brussels, mustard. Very random, yet actually delicious.

Nightly protein pancake topped with a ton of peanut butter. yessss.

Delicious spaghetti squash turkey lasagna!

Only 9-10g of carbs and it’s delicious! Sounded weird at first, but it tasted like jerky/meatloaf.

Roasted turnips, butternut squash, green beans, coconut oil, grilled chicken.

Arctic zero, cereal (panda puffs, reddi whip, cinnamon raisin pb, and dark chocolate dreams pb. Hell yeah.

STEAK. I used to not love steak, but I have been loving it lately.
